when feelings are mixed,

Loose black heel boots click along the sidewalk of the city as guitarist for Maybe Memories walks towards starbucks. Large sunglasses cover her eyes and almost half of her face. A small boy, around ten, stopped her by grabbing her jean miniskirt. The blonde turns to look at him, and sees that he's wearing a tee shirt with her band's name on it. She smiled.
When Tori was asked for her autograph, she pulled a sharpie out of her small clutch bag and signed the boy's shirt. His mother came running up and snapped a picture of the two. The little boy smiled widely and thanked Tori with a hug. He was barely to her waist, and her skirt was kind of short. Luckily, he didn't look under to see her short, grey girl boxers.
In a matter of time the guitar player was walking into Starbucks. She was hungry and tired, it being only around eight in the morning. Tori waited in line, getting a few looks from teenagers sitting there talking and trying to figure out if Tori was actually herself. Finally, the blonde got up to the counter and pushed her sunglasses on top of her head. "Umm.. A caramel lattee, hot, with extra whipped cream please? Oh, and a chocolate chip muffin." the woman at the counter nodded and gave Tori her muffin, telling her to go to the other end of the counter to pick up her drink. "Thanks." she said, paying the lady.
In a little bit, Tori picked up her drink and made her way to one of the lounging chairs with a small table in front of it. There was only one chair near it, and it also was a large and comfortable lounge chair. The nineteen year old placed her lattee on the table and held her muffin, taking a small bite of it then placing it onto the table next to her drink.
Tori grabbed a magazine from the table, opening it up the to a page about the tour. She read over the long article slowly. The girl kept her eyes on the magazine and grabbed her lattee, taking a sip. She kept the foam cup in hand, sipping only a small bit every now and then as she read the article, flipping the page once every couple of minutes. So this was her normal morning. Starbucks coffee and muffin while reading or doing something boredly. Usually she would sit around in her bus though, and she felt like going out into public. She placed her drink on the table and put the magazine down. Tori pulled out her sharpie and began drawing on her hand random signs about her band from the title to a guitar to music symbols.

i'm done denying the truth to anyone, 'cause i'm alive.
Alex hadn’t slept well. Actually, she hadn’t slept at all, and she didn’t know why. Her job kept her relatively busy all day, so she was tired. Sleep just never came. So, at six, she decided to get out of her bunk and do stuff. She wasn’t going to have fun by just sitting around and doing nothing. Obviously she wasn’t going to go to sleep, so why not go out and explore? Alex liked looking around and finding new places. Her curiosity always got the best of her when she was in new places, and she had to look around. She knew when to stop though. Honestly though, as much as her curiosity bothered her, she wasn’t always tempted to look around. It was just sometimes, and when she really wished she wasn’t curious. Now though, it was fine that she was curious. There was nothing else that needed to be done.
The girl slid out of her bunk and grabbed some clothes. She was in her pajamas, and she couldn’t very well wander around town in them. She’d get weirder looks than people already gave her. I mean, pink hair wasn’t very normal. And, really, she didn’t like sitting around in her pajamas. That made the girl feel lazy, and she hated that more than anything. She needed to get out and do things. Stepping into the bathroom, Alex closed the door behind her and stripped off all her dirty clothes and pulled on the clean ones. Her makeup bag was still in the bathroom, probably from someone borrowing some part of it, so she just applied a little black eyeliner and black eye shadow. It made her blue eyes stick out more.
After Alex slipped on a pair of pink Converse, she grabbed sunglasses and walked off the bus. She pressed the door shut softly, making sure not to make a lot of noise. No one wanted to be woken up at six in the morning. It was a warm morning, and a bright one too. The girl was glad she’d grabbed the glasses. Her first stop was the park, just to walk. It seemed like such a pretty place. After a ten minute walk, Alex was in the park. It was very quiet, and, as assumed, beautiful. The place pulled her in, and she just sat down and looked around, taking in the atmosphere. It was calm and had no sense of urgency, unlike the tour. People always needed help, and she was always rushing around to get a job done. Here, it seemed like all of that was a million miles away. The girl laid down on the bench and looked up at the sky. It was a pretty blue, and she loved it.
After a few minutes, her eyelids began to feel heavy. Her eyes closed, and Alex fell asleep for an hour.
Opening her eyes, Alex heard a few people talking. Sitting up abruptly, the girl looked around confusedly. Why was she at the park? Then it all came back to her. She’d been walking around and fallen asleep on a park bench. She really needed to get some coffee. People watched as she stood up, probably thinking she was some kind of homeless person or something. But a homeless person wouldn’t have a cellphone, or money. Alex had both of those things, as she was headed to Starbucks. It took only a few minutes to get there, and the aroma inside was enticing.
Alex stepped up to the counter and ordered her coffee, just a small regular coffee. It took almost no time at all for it to be handed to her, and she took care of what she needed. Once it was exactly how she liked it, she walked away from the counter and into the sitting area. Her eyes looked around for a spot when they found someone familiar. The girl was looking at a magazine, but she could tell who it was. She walked towards her friend, sitting across from her. Instead of reading, she was now drawing on herself. “Lovely day, isn’t it?” she spoke, taking a sip of her coffee afterward. Tori was one of her good friends, and she liked spending time with her.

Tori ignored the constant bell of the entrance and exit bells ringing, stating the people entereing and exitting. Every now and then she'd look up to see teenagers staring at her. And every now and then an adult. Tori could remember two years ago, when she was just like those teenagers, oogling over band members. The beautiful thing was, she still looked like she was one of them. After all, she was only nineteen.
Soon enough, as she was drawing on herself, a familiar voice was heard. The voice of a good friend that was so much fun to hang with. One that she was starting to think she could like more than she did. One of the reasons she wondered about her sexuality. So, Tori looked up to her with a smile.
Heyyyy girlie. she welcomed Alex sweetly. Yes, yes, yes. It's so purdy, out. Tori stated, saying pretty as if she was some kind of hillbillie. It was hard for Tori not to goof around when she was just with her friends. Especially with Alex.
Tori capped her Sharpie, putting it into her clutch bag and placing the bag in her lap. She picked up her muffin and picked pieces off of it, popping those pieces into her mouth and eating them slowly. Soon enough the small muffin was gone, so she picked her lattee up and sipped a little, leaving the still three quarter filled lattee in hand softly, looking towards Alex the entire time.

i'm done denying the truth to anyone, 'cause i'm alive.
Alex would have left if she didn’t find a friend here. The bell that signaled when the door was being opened was very annoying, and it wasn’t what she wanted to hear first thing in the morning. Especially only after having an hour of sleep. What had happened at the park surprised her. She couldn’t believe she fell asleep on a park bench. Sure, her sleepless night warranted drowsiness, but she didn’t think enough to make her fall asleep on a bench. It wasn’t’ that terrible though, because she got some sleep. It was nice to get a little bit of rest. Coffee always helped that. Taking another sip of the drink, Alex felt herself waking up already.
Alex was glad she had a friend as pretty as Tori. From what she knew, the girl was straight, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t like her a little. I mean, you couldn’t help your feelings. She’d liked people in the past that had been straight, and it sucked, but she couldn’t help it. Of course, Alex got over them eventually, but the duration of the crush was a hard time. This one wasn’t as bad though. Not yet, at least. The pink haired girl smiled at her friend’s greeting, then laughed slightly at her reply. “Very purdy. I think we should go tanning.” That was obviously a joke because Alex was pretty pale, and she didn’t tan. Tori didn’t look like she tanned very much either. At least they were similar like that. It’d be a pain if Tori wanted to go tanning all the time and Alex hated it. That didn’t seem like it’d happen anyway.
Her friend stopped drawing on herself with the sharpie and put it away. Alex drank more of her coffee and looked around, watching all of the business people rush. It was ridiculous to live that kind of lifestyle. “So, what have you been up to lately?” she asked, turning her attention back to her friend. The girl had to be one of the prettiest girls Alex had seen lately. Not just her appearance, but her personality too. She wasn’t full of herself for being a musician on tour. She still understood life didn’t revolve around her, which made the twenty year old happy. She’d hate to have a friend like that. It was a terrible characteristic to have.

music isn't just a hobby
it's a god damn lifestyle!

Tori watched all of the people who were walking in and out in boring, black suits and dresses. They all looked like they were going to a funeral. She couldn't imagine herself doing that. Ever. The girl was way to into music, sometimes for her own good. She had no plans for once her music career ended. As far as she thought, it wouldn't for a long time. She never really cared about the future, never thought about it.
Blue eyes sparkled with laughter and a small giggle escaped Tori's lips. Psh, as if. Tanning is for sluts. she said with another giggle and a small sip of her drink once more. She was still tired, but the lattee was definately helping. That's what she got for waking up early with only a few hours of sleep. But by looking at Alex she could tell that she got even less than Tori herself.
Mostly just chilling. And of course band stuff. she said with a smile. Oh, and getting little sleep. By the looks of you, you got like none. she told her friend with a 'tisk-tisk' sound and a laugh. Tori loved teasing her friends, and Alex would be no exception. It was just too much fun.

i'm done denying the truth to anyone, 'cause i'm alive.
Alex really kind of wished she didn’t like her friend. It’d make her life a whole lot easier. She could find someone who could like her back. Unless Tori was keeping a secret from her, she was sure there’d be no mutual crushes. Straight girls were straight for a reason. The pink haired girl actually liked being bisexual. She wasn’t really limiting herself; she could like someone who had a lovely personality and boobs. And a lot of people didn’t have a problem with it. There were a lot of kids that did, but many were tolerant of all differences. It was great, because no one made fun of her for being a girl and liking them. She was sure if she stayed in her hometown that she’d be ousted by her friends.
Tori’s laugh was one Alex loved to hear. It made her laugh too, as laughter was always contagious for her. But her statement was kind of true; the people you usually found tanning were the ones that liked to show off their body and have sex. It wasn’t always that way, but majority of the time it was. “Aw, come on. We could run around in bikinis and be all ‘look at me, I’m beautiful!’ and piss people off my talking on our cellphones too laugh.” That made her so mad when people did that. They had no respect for anyone around them. They felt like they were the only people that mattered, so they spoke as loud as they wanted. It was rather obnoxious, and Alex wanted to hit them for it.
Tori’s answer was expected. After all, they were on tour, and it was her job. The little sleep part surprised her though. She, for some reason, had figured she was the only one who had issues sleeping. It wasn’t really a smart assumption, but it was her assumption nonetheless. “Ah, sweet. But bad about the sleeping part. Yeah, I only got an hour. I fell asleep on a park bench,” she laughed, remembering this morning. It was actually pretty funny, but at the same time it was weird and a bit embarrassing. No one from the tour had been there though, so it was fine.

now i'm unbreakable
it's unmistakable!

Tori's fingers made their way into her hair, fiddling with her new black and pink low lights. She'd gotten them just the night before, and no one had seen them, not even her band mates, because she'd done it after every one else wasn't around then went to her bunk and hid the rest of the night. The blonde smiled while her friends laughed along with her. It was so easy for laughter to catch on with Tori, so she smiled wider.
OH! And, we could sit like two inches from each other and be talking super loud, then sit there texting and talking to each other on our cell phones about passing people like we were miles away! she said with a giggle. Tori hated those people, and she knew that was anothing thing her and Alex had in common. And another reason she felt those weird butterflies around her. It was something she couldn't control, and she wasn't sure if she wanted to feel them or not.
The blonde was still fiddling with her hair, a random habit of hers. She shook her head with a playful 'tsk-tsk'. Day-um, girlie. That just ain't very healthy. Tsk-tsk, doll, tsk-tsk. she said with a giggle and a wide smile. No matter what time it was she could be extremely hyper around her friends. It didn't matter how tired she was, she was just that way. With her free hand she sipped her drink, then placing it onto the table. Her other hand just sit in her hair, fiddling around playfully.

i'm done denying the truth to anyone, 'cause i'm alive.
Alex had noticed the new colors in Tori’s hair, but she wasn’t one to just blurt out a compliment about someone’s hair. You could tell she noticed, but she waited until a good time to mention it. Colored hair wasn’t anything out of the ordinary for her anyway. Alex’s hair was pink and black, so when someone else had different colored hair, it wasn’t a huge deal. It actually wouldn’t have been five years ago. By then, she’d already dyed her hair from its natural blonde color to a black. From there, she’d only dyed her hair back to blonde and pink. The black and pink was a relatively new thing, and she was still thinking about new colors to dye her hair. After all, she was hair and makeup. She messed with hair for a living.
She giggled at what Tori was saying, finding it all too familiar. People always did that, and they talked about her too. It was like her hair gave them permission to speak about her when she was right there. Maybe it did in their minds, but not in hers. It was called respect, and she knew they had none. Mostly they were giggly over tanned teenagers who thought they were amazing. They weren’t. “Yes! I mean, that’s the only way to do it.” She knew if she were ever to act like that, obviously as a joke, it’d be with Tori. They just loved to joke like that, and Alex didn’t feel weird about being crazy with her. She was comfortable with the girl; a bit more comfortable than she wished. Having a crush on one of your good friends wasn’t something she’d wish on her worst enemy. Well, maybe she would.
Alex laughed slightly at her friend’s reaction. “I knowww, I just couldn’t fall asleep last night!” She really had been a bit tired, but she just couldn’t fall asleep. It was one of those odd things you couldn’t really explain. “I didn’t sleep at all last night, so at around six thirty, I went to the park just to walk around. It was so pretty and everything, so I decided to stay and look around. I wanted to look up at the sky, but the ground was wet, so I laid on the bench. That was when I fell asleep. It was a good hour’s sleep though.” People thought she was crazy, Alex was sure, but she got to sleep. That was the most important thing.

the best found love
is that you find in a best friend!

The girl smiled. She loved watching all of the changes that went through Alex's hair colors. And she loved to watch the changes, inspiring her to come up with new ways to do her hair. Tori had always been blonde, and she was tired with the boring color. So, she got bored and dyed the pink and black in.
Tori laughed softly. That sounded just like what those two would do, just sit around on the beach mocking people. And it sounded like tons of fun too. Too bad it's freezing as hell outside. she said, over enthusiastically bringing out fake sadness in her voice. She snapped and placed a fake smile on her face, which was soon replaced with a smile and giggle.
She nodded with a smile still on her lips. The girl understood, that was how she was most nights. Soon again, Tori was almost entranced by the voice of her friend. Tori's eyes lit up and she laughed again softly. Haha, that's okay. I'm sure people thought I was crazy when I did that once. I was up all night then fell asleep when I sat under a tree. I looked like a homeless loser. she said with a pause and a giggle. Well, when you don't get any sleep, an hour feels like heaven! she then finished with a smile and giggles again.
