As she entered through the front door, the party atmosphere instantly hit her and lightened her mood. No matter how shitty her days were, clubbing always made the nights so much better. Her signature smirk found its way upon her face as she pushed herself through the hordes of swarming bodies, dancing to the pulsating beat of some techno song.
Even though she hadn't started to dance or even ordered her drink yet, Kat's body temperature immediately increased due to the close contact with so many strangers. By the time she reached the bar, she had broken out in a light sweat. She raised a finger, catching the attention of the bartender.
"What can I get for ya?"
"Jack and Coke," she replied.
Kat was never a big beer drinker; she drank the stuff, but didn't really like it. She preferred harder alcohol, something that would feel good going down, even better as the night went on, but hurt like a bitch coming up. It was a price she was willing to pay.
As she waited for her drink, her eyes immediately scanned her surroundings for familiar faces. She had no problem meeting new people and making new friends, but she always had more fun with someone she knew. She didn't recognize anyone in the club, so she began to focus on any paparazzi; the media loved to get in her face, especially since the tour began. She didn't really care what anybody said about her, but it was the fear of bringing the band down with her, so she tried her best to control herself, even though it was a lost cause.
"Here ya go, babe."
She smiled and nodded at the slightly older man, grabbing her drink and immediately taking a swig. She'd spent most of her day hungover and even though some people would call her stupid for going out to party again after passing out drunk the night before, alcohol always made her feel better and she knew things would start to look up once she had some in her system.
Tonight, she just wanted to have some fun. What was so wrong with that?
